It's wonderful to talk to her on the phone now. She can actually carry on a normal conversation. I love hearing her laugh. For years I thought I never would again. It's such a blessing. Yeah, I lost a lot of years and so have her kids, but I'm glad for what we have now. Regrets are a waste of time. But when I hear of other people in the same situation I WISH there was something else besides that revolving door of jail, drugs, alcohol, homesIm sorry Blue, I know that hurts.
Lessnrss, promiscuity, violence, victimization. These people need help and jail is not it. Mental problems like bipolar and schizophrenia are what drive them to drugs and alcohol in the first place. We have to deal with these issues first, then they won't need the drugs and booze to "stabilize" them and help them feel "normal."
