Granny's gone and done it again

Just think of it as puppy breath.

Happy to report the skunk smell has gone. #1 and I worked on the living room and now there is a place to squeeze in the tree. Supposed to be raining tomorrow, so I'll be putting up the tree!

Pretty sunset tonight.

My dinner is ready. Be back as soon as I scarf some food!

I like him. I agree some of his methods I would Not use but his premise is correct. You need to be the pack leader. ESP with a smart dog.

Robert got over Bandit one day long while back and was smacking him like all over. Bandit wasnt hurt but I didnt like it . Robert is the only one Bandit listens to.

Sigh. That was...frightening.

So group classes are not a thing in covid times. Even with an outdoor class. Which I’m angry with - I was led to believe they still existed for the puppy classes at least.

Private lessons. Twelve for $1600.

Stopped by the local pet store that I know also does training. Private only now, two sessions for $155.

Mother of crap. Hubs already flat out noped.
Yikes. I used to charge $25 for each one-hour private session. Six lessons for Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come and Return to Heel. We also did 3 minute blind Sit-Stays and five minute blind Down-stays, and worked on behavior problems like jumping up, getting in the trash or kitty litter, charging out the front door, car issues, etc. as time allowed. I wasn't in it for the money (obviously!), I just wanted to help people enjoy their dogs, and keep dogs out of shelters ... or worse.

It would be great if you could find some other people with young pups and meet at a dog park to let the dogs socialize. Maybe you could advertise or ask a dog walker. They might have some contacts.

I don't believe in hitting a dog. They don't understand it; it's not in their vocabulary, as dogs don't hit each other. Hitting just teaches a dog to fear you, IMO. There are more natural ways to discipline.
