My sister and I go shopping together. She finds something she likes and I buy it for her and save it for Christmas. Vice versa for me. It's always a nice surprise because I never can remember what she got me, but I always like it!

How did you know it was mareks.

I didn't at the time. About 6 months later I talked to a Veterinary Doctor down at the vet college in Columbia Missouri at Missouri State. He said it sure sounded like I was dealing with Marek's. I was ready to send him a bird to necropsy when I remembered that I had two birds with Gray Eye. My husband, who is a retired eye doc, was able to scan their eyes with a hand held microscope (the birds were great patients) and told me that I was definitely dealing with a herpes infection and both birds were virtually blind from it.

Marek's= herpes in chickens. I had my diagnosis. I lost a lot of birds to neurological problems, some to rapid decline and others to sudden onset tumors, one rooster developing tumors in his throat over 8 weeks time that were his demise.

I lost one 8 week old chick to scissor paralysis.

I hate Marek's.

A chess club? My kid was a natural leader. Everybody wanted to do whatever he did. In two weeks all the kids were playing chess.
