Granny's gone and done it again

Sigh. Been a rough day. Got messaged by my sibling today - the oma (dads mom) had a sugar problem (she’s hardcore diabetic), the workers where she lives found her passed out on her bathroom floor with her sugars way high - so they called an ambulance. Turns out she has an infection, some kidney damage and when she fell she broke a bone in her neck. (She has had osteoporosis for years - where your bones just suck). They would need to do surgery on her to fuse the bones which they won’t do right now cause her sugars are ten kinds of winked, the infection, and all other factors...so she’s going to have to be in a brace thing so she can’t move her neck for a few months (if she makes it that long) and they’ll decide from there. They were talking dnr orders and all that so I’m not fooling myself to think it’s nothing.

she burned her bridges with me years and years ago but I know this is hard as heck on my dad so I worry about that. He tends to bottle things up.
At least the docs let them visit her in the hospital - so he and my aunt went, they let them in one at a time.
Sorry to hear. It would be hard enough, but with the covid restrictions it sure adds to the worry.

good idea. that way the worker can see it as well.
Gives Robert a little responsibility too.
We were thinking alike! :highfive:

How are you Wishing ?
I am the same. Cold and tired. Got the kid to the oral surgeon early, everything fine with him. Then did a grocery run, didn't need much, but the line to check out was ridiculously long. I better sleep tonight.

speaking of Robert and responsibility, I owe him $300.00 on the van repair and I told him today I didnt think it fair for me to have to pay it all back and him and dad needed to pitch in so we will all "pay" $100.00 He is good with that.

@Wishing4Wings how has your day been dear??
Cold. I can't seem to get warm.
Good news, Scooter has definitely turned a corner and is feeling better. He found his new Christmas toy and brought it to play. Not all the way his perky self, but I am not so worried now.
