Granny's gone and done it again

We had a pup like that. We were finally able to train her to never put her mouth on us by yipping really loudly when she did it. We felt ridiculous doing it but it worked.
Yes! Speak the dog's language! It works.
 
Been trying that. He's....sometimes he's sensitive to what we want, other times hes all honey badger don't care.
You can also grab him by the loose skin under the neck, roll him over and "growl" at him by rolling your tongue loudly (if you can). Hold him there till you see signs of submission: relaxes, looks away, licks lips. Then walk away, ignore for a few minutes. Let him come to you and "apologize" before you pet him.

My husband even bit our dog back. Not hard but he pinned her like you're describing And held her until she calmed.
 
Does anyone here own horses? We're trying to decide if there are enough people here on BYC that are horse owners to do a horse focused contest. 🤔
