Granny's gone and done it again

that sounds nice to me. Maybe look for some pretty shells ?
Surf is really rough. Shells are pretty rare.

do you guys ever fish for food ?
We used to dig clams and go crabbing when I was a kid. Too many people now and the fishing licenses are expensive. Then there's the wind and the cold... rocky beaches, steep cliffs, sneaker waves... too much trouble.

I remember my sister and I used to go crabbing . We would tie some fat back to a string and throw it out about 10 ft. and slowly bring it back in where there would be 3-5 crabs attached to the meat and we just needed to grab them and put them in a 5 gallon bucket. We were just little but we brought them home and mom would boil them alive in some spice called crab boil . Yummy goodness !

Sure, but most are steep, very windy and cold. It's not Bay Watch up here!

October is the best time to enjoy the coast. Calm water, not much wind, no fog, and warm days. Water is too cold for swimming and rip currents are dangerous. Family of 4 was at the beach a few months ago, not used to the surf. Sneaker wave washed the two kids out into deep water, currents pull you down and out. Dad went in after them and all 3 died leaving mom alone. Tragic day at the beach. Week or so later, another kid died the same way.

It's beautiful, but not the most relaxing place

How sad.

I meant like Fl. beaches with sand and where people lay out to sun and swim.
Im tired. LOL I didnt realize it was 2 am. I guess I should say Gnight. sweet dreams and I hope you feel better tomorrow.
You have go to southern Ca for those kind of beaches. Lots of sand and warm water. 8 hr drive and sunburn... not my scene!
