Granny's gone and done it again

I hit him in the nose with a wire fly swaaaat. He got the message but he scared me. I just tried not to show it. He has been ignoring me ever since.
I think you did okay. You took immediate action and you got an appropriate response. Think about it, though. He had his head in the trash when you smacked him the first time and he didn't know what hit him. He turned around to defend himself, teeth bared. He didn't know it was you. It was a natural reaction on his part, really. It could have been one of the other dogs. He didn't know. But you smacked him on the nose and the butt and you probably yelled at him, too, and he backed off. That's as it should be. It's all good. And now he's subdued. I think he's waiting to know if he's forgiven. If he knows any commands at all, like Come or Sit, you might call him to you, Bandit Come, then Sit. Then praise him for obeying, just a simple Good Boy, and a pat on the head, then he'll know he's forgiven and you still love him. That will put an end to it. Really, he didn't attack you, he just defended himself.

Dang Lucy, she thought it was play time. Doesn't matter to her how uncomfortable the walking is to me. LOL. That lab part just wants to play. The greyhound thinks it is perfect for running. I was halfminded to just unleash her and wait in the stair case, but I didn't. Finally she peed and we came in. We both had a coating of snow on us.

Thank you Blue ! Thats kinda what I thought too but was enjoying the quiet. LOL
A friend of mine thought her dog had rabies bc it went under her mobile home and wouldn't come out. When I asked her to tell me what happened right BEFORE the dog went under the house, it turned out the dog had done something she got in trouble for. The owner smacked her and yelled at her, and the dog ran and hid. I gave her the same advice I gave you, and it solved the problem. No rabies. Just a little insecurity! 😉
