I have a rule of thumb I use, just for things like this. I wait a week, and if I still want it, then I either wait another week, or do it. But I have to wait at least the first week.

You have to be exposed to something in order to have an allergic reaction. You can eat something all of your life, then suddenly become allergic. They explained that to me, when I had my first allergic reaction to MSG that dang near killed me.
