So far, in advanced , and honors english highschool classes, I've read The Alchemist, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Of mice and men, The Night (or Night?), the the Diary of a young girl, the Anne frank novel.

I hated most of them, lol.

I should reread some of those now. I would probably like them better.
I didn't care for English classes much. I loved science. I wrote all my AP English papers, due 2nd period, during 1st period Biology. I don't think the teacher read most of them after the first few. I used to put in intentional mistakes to see if she'd catch them. Nope. String of A's and an occasional A- ...it was all meaningless.
