one year I had a horrible misbehaving class---wouldn't listen at all. One Monday they came in, and assignments were written on the board. I did not talk to them--wrote down answers to their questions. One finally asked why I wasn't talking and I said--you don't listen to me when I talk, so why should I? they got the message!
