Dang. Burned my sloppiest of Joe’s.
D, I know a lot of people who may not have the “book/school smarts” that excel in their field. And I know some school smart people who are dumb as a sack of bricks in any and all practical applications and are still completely dependent on their parents at an age where they really shouldn’t be.
in our family the boy cousins were the favored ones. On my dad’s side they had some rocky starts but eventually found their strides, on my moms side the boy cousins...well. Those precious smart kids who were going to be lawyers and All The Prideful Things....well, one works at a grocery store and the other is in and out of trouble....whereas the sibling and I...not the best with the schooling...well. She’s an award winning hairstylist, and I’m a minion of awesomeness who in a past life has worked for some of the top Canadian corporate legal firms. We both have been able to live independent lives (well, sibling is living in the parents basement right now, she bought a house and covid has slowed the construction down A Lot., but that was only supposed to be a few months between her selling her townhouse and her new house being built!)
those voices that tell you you’re not good enough, aren’t smart enough, etc. are idiots.
No one is perfect, we all make mistakes, and we all have different strengths and weaknesses.
diversity is society’s strength.
