Mine was black. It's what we called Spanish hair. It didn't spiral. It was like the girl's in The Man from Snowy River.

One of my favorite movies!
My hair would curl into ringlets if I washed it and let it air dry without touching it. Brush it or visit humid Hawaii and it went all Spanish on me.
