Yeah they do, Trains. To grow up healthy and balanced they do. You could just as well say they don't need good nutrition or a roof over their heads or an education or clean clothes or even clean water and in a way you'd be right. Millions of kids all over the planet survive without those things. But is it what's best for them? Is it an optimum existence? Obviously not. Sure, many will SURVIVE. But most of us want more than mere survival for our kids.

Yeah, but what about Lesbian couples? You don't need a father, you don't need a mother. You just need a parent, or two. Gender doesn't matter when raising a child. That is my opinion.

I think in a perfect world, gender shouldn't matter. ALL people would be free and accepted for being strong, gentle, smart, caring, responsible all the time. But we have hundreds of years of gender roles to overcome. We HAVE changed a lot so far---women and children used to be seen and not heard---men were the breadwinners, women cook and childcare. Those ideas are mostly outdated in many parts of the world. SO it's going to be a while for it all to be even/gender neutral--just caring humans. Until then, I am glad our kids got live-in examples of a man and woman hugging them, being stern when needed, pulling their own weight in household and sharing life and chores.
