Granny's gone and done it again

And...whats that?
The gear shifter was on the floor and you had four speeds. You worked your way through them, usually in an H pattern with a handle next to your right knee. There was also Reverse which is kind of hard to explain without a diagram ...

Like the modern day one without the fifth gear?

Is it a nice place? I wanted to rent a room so I could soak in one of those big bath tub thingys
Ohhhhh. I wish I could do that. I could go for a big awesome soaker tub.
Today I tried to drive 😏. We went to an empty area. It was really scary...but interesting as well. Do you all remember the first brand of car you test drove?
2000 Corolla (5 speed). Yep. I learned in the new car. (And I learned late. I was midway through 17 before I got my learners.). I remember it well. I had a cyst that had to get removed on my bumcrack of all places. (Apparently my mom had the same thing when she was round that age too) so they knocked me under to remove and pack it. Follow up with the doc and found out I pretty much wouldn’t be able to do any biking at all that summer so I was kinda upset. Mom took me to one of the parking lots for the nhl arena (empty obviously!) and we did some low speed driving around light posts (and stalling out shhh). Signed me up for some drivers Ed so she didn’t have to teach me lol and away we go.
Hoping this is not a stupid thing to ask...were the cars stick shift? 🤷‍♂️
I learned on a stick. Sticks are such a dying breed in the states though…
