Granny's gone and done it again

I got my parents old Corolla as my first car. It was automatic shift. My second Toyoya was a shift stick , and I learned to drive it with 2 lessons in the car lot from the salesperson. It was a station wagon, and held an amazing amount of stuff.

Do you remember if you were scared at first? Or excited?

Toyotas are amazing. I once had an '85 Toyota Corolla on its last legs, which I got for $1,000 in 2003, and that little car got 50 mpg!!!. I finally knocked the muffler off on a rock by accident and decided not to fix it but traded it in on a little Ford Focus. The dealer gave me $3,000 trade-in value on it. It's probably living a new life as a taxi in Mexico or somewhere.

Horrible day at work. Marks the WORST day I have EVER had there. We have a horrible new hire who is a jerk to me. He wants to try and mock me and call me names instead of working. He will listen to the managers, but nobody else. BUT the managers are ALWAYS busy so I was tasked with teaching him things. He REFUSED to listen, GM left after we had a slow hour... it picked right back up after he left. Manager in charge was too busy to deal with him because we where slammed.. I ended up doing work for two people all night. I didn't get a second to breathe and have a drink until 5 hours into my shift. We had the WORST possible crew combination. Three horrible workers, three more who are GREAT workers but also GREAT friends so there where reminders to not get distracted every 5 mins. After it was all over I went to the back and called my GM in tears because we where busy, I was stressed, and one of the co-workers was treating me like garbage. I'm ready to completely break down crying again because today was really bad. I cant imagine how stressful it was for my managers. Before the night crew showed up, they where slammed and understaffed from open to 4pm. TWO people called in sick today. I can only hope tomorrow is better. New guy has the day off. I hate him so much. And if he has ANYTHING to say about my attitude towards him, I know my co-workers will back me up. I'm a great person. I can really say that and not sound full of myself. I am a great worker, I get a long with most people, even if I really don't like them. But I DO NOT allow people to walk all over me. I may seem quiet, and nice enough to walk over, but when I am MAD I am MAD. during my crying session with my gm, he told me to ignore new hire. and did I ignore him. Have a question? ignored. need help? ignored. Try that. Want to mock me and be a jerk? I just won't talk to you. Have fun walking around like a chicken with its head cut off because you made your help mad at you.

I needed to just let that all out. LOL

at least you still have hair! hahaa
Not as much as I used to! :hit

I believe there are still six words they can't say on tv.
George Carlin said there were 7 words. :ducI think my brother still has the LP.
Network stations are more strict than some cable channels. Potty tv!

Today I tried to drive 😏. We went to an empty area. It was really scary...but interesting as well. Do you all remember the first brand of car you test drove?
A torquoise 1970 Ford f-100 pickup. Only on the driveway and up to the barn, back and forth, learning how to work a clutch. I was 12 or 13.
We all took drivers ed in high school back then, so my first road experience was in a big, unmemorable, 4 dr sedan. The instructor was in the passenger seat with her own brake pedal and 3 other students were in the back seat waiting their turns. Luckily my turn started when we were out of town on the country roads where I lived. Instructor said I drove too fast, the big chicken!
My mom's 1974 Honda Accord hatchback, 5 speed manual, is what I mostly learned on and took my drivers test (at 17).

:hugs That sounds terrible. Are you at a national chain restaurant? Most have rules and codes of conduct for employees. If the jerk acts like a jerk to you again, file a formal complaint and hopefully your problem will go away. You are a more valuable employee and I'm sure they will support you. Hopefully he won't last long.
