Cloudy here and a good chance of RAIN tomorrow, woohoo! Temps in the low 80's, yay, a cold snap! Hope I can keep my chix from freezing, lol (that's like a joke, no worries, they're fine ). What super powers do your ring give you, Super Granny?

Humm'birds seem to be moving on... Two are keeping all others from feeding now. The other day there were vicious aerial battles. One bird grabbed another, that was on the feeder, by a primary wing feather, and yanked her off! Instead of twelve birds sucking down a quart or more a day, they are hardly drinking any. I will miss them.

Our hummers are resident Anna's. Guess I will have to keep feeding them through winter since they are used to it now.
My grandparents lived about a quarter mile from here. Grandpa used to feed the hummers out on his deck and some of them got very tame... they would sit on his finger. One year a hummer migration came through and he could barely keep the feeders filled. One day we counted at least 80 hummers. Loads of them were perched on the TV antenna. Kind of felt like you were in a bee swarm! Something I will never forget.

I need to fill my feeder for them tonight. Did fill up the suet feeder.
Tomorrow is the Rice , VA swap. So tonight I need to load the truck and check that all the birds have food and water.

Far as I know we just have ruby-throats. I was tickled because we had at least a dozen, but 80! Whew!

I was at someones house that must of had that many. It was kinda freaky. This person had probably 20 feeders up and had been feeding them for years. Most I see here at any given time is 3.
