And Socks was out in the pasture, so i figured she wasn't ready to kid yet. I went to work some more in the barn. Decided to go measure how tall the goats are. In the goat house, Socks was laying down with two kids, and another still in the amniotic sack! I opened the sack, broke the umbilical cord and stripped off my shirt to dry the kid with. I worked on that kid for about 20 minutes, but she just wouldn't start breathing. Tried suction, compressions, and little puff of air up her nose. Made me cry because she was so beautiful and perfect, but i guess drowned in the anmiotic fluids.
Anyway, she had 2 others and still looks as big around as ever.

So shopping the Christmas sales was kind of a bust. We were trying support the mom and pop shops rather than spend at the chain stores. Sadly, a lot of the places that were in business last year are gone. Cute little gift shops where you can find different things... Especially the places that sold cards. sigh. A real bummer. I dont like buying online, but it seems to be the future.

I tried the walmart brand of soup from the deli today. It was as good as mine. Its market fresh New England clam chowder.

We haven't been having many problems here. Worst thing is no sugar free candy in dollar stores. And it's $1.25 now!
