NoDoes it hurt?
Rest Well, Granny HI have been up since 8. I never get up that early and Im going to bed.
sweet dreams all
I thought about it, but wanted to give her some time for the tissues to heal. Things looked kind of swollen and diaper rashey.Haven't heard of this. Sad. Me? Knowing me, I would have plucked. Then smeared some good ol neo in there.. Serious.
Fly strike is the worst!I have a Wyandotte that gets her vent poopy too. And its not just her feathers, its her vent. She is an older lady though and has suffered from flystrike incidences. She is doing good so far though! Just needs to be cleaned often, is all. I have never heard of feathers growing there though! Do you have pictures?
Thank you for researching! I don't think it's normal for a chicken as none of the others have ever had it. Her vent looks normal except for all the pin feathers. I did wonder about swelling, so will try to check her again tomorrow, but I really do think it's been getting progressively worse.I tried googling that Wishing. I didnt find anything. Robert said its normal for creatures to grow like that and humans do it too but again, I didnt find anything.
What I am thinking is it might have something to do with positioning. Like, she was swollen last time you seen her and now she isnt so it may have always been there and its something genetic. Sorta like an inverted vent. I dont think I would pluck just because its a sensitive area prone to ripping.
Argh! Welll, poor Santa will have to get used to handling then, because at this rate she will need cleaning weekly. And if the feathers are plucked, they grow back faster.
That could be shingles.View attachment 2978431
Now my arm is rashed.
Yaaaay for cheerful firesSleep habits all wonky again. Fell asleep early and now awake at 3am.
Bright side... lots of hot coals left in the stove so easy to get a cheerful fire going.
Lol. Another uffda. (Or in yiddish, oy vey. Or in Blue's language, "yikes!")so I have a phone number written down on a piece of paper BUT no idea who or what it is for. Guess I will call it in the am and find out.![]()
