Granny's gone and done it again

So, my crock pot has a locking lid and Nancy bought one today and gave it to me . Its bigger which I like but no locking lid? Which one is better because I dont have room for both. I normally set the pot on low and cook things over night. Will the one with no locks dry up?
Mine don't lock and I don't have a problem with it boiling dry.

I thought the locking lid was mainly a "travel" feature so you could cook something and then lock the lid and take it with NO worried of spillage.
