Wonder how much the pigs usually go for at the fair? You can always bid on her yourself. I knew it was going to be hard. Its just going to get worse.

$14/lb last year was a good price. We can’t afford such an expensive pig. It’s so much fun too. But man…it’s so hard not to get attached, it’s pretty much impossible!

Yeah. In fact, the owner of that pig bought her pig back and ended up donating it to the project. That’s the only reason we have Durocs (they are my favorite breed).

I'm not ready yet. A hundred bucks for a dozen eggs from a breeder in CA, plus shipping. And I want a separate coop and run so the hens won't be bred by my other roos. So it won't happen any time soon.

Not a lot. She is the only one I know that did that. Even our leader was shocked. It’s not cheap to raise a show pig, not to mention the high auction cost involved.
