I had planned on doing poultry market this year, but quail weren’t allowed.
Now I know. Hoping to do Cornish cross next year.

Ooh, CornishX will be fun! I also plan to do small animals next year. Maybe some lops too. It’s easier to get scholarships that way.

I’d absolutely love to do rabbits, unfortunately that’s not on the table with my family.

Yeah. I don’t know either. My mom wants to raise rabbits, but my goal is to show the goats first. And maybe chickens too. I don’t have any “show” birds currently though. None that would be worth it to bring, that is.

Do you have show birds?

Not really. Only purebreds I have are Ameraucanas, a bantam cochin, and an OEGB. None of which are horrible quality. My bantam cochin wouldn’t stand a chance though. BCs are super popular for showing & her middle toe is kind of naked.

OMG the one with the "frumpy" hen, comb flopped over and sort of I have had it expression in her eyes.

ended up having to run to the farm yesterday. Mike was "too sick" to do the animals. There wasn't much to do. Oh and I found some local hay for about 120 a bale. Hope to pick up some tomorrow.
