Granny's gone and done it again

Oh my gosh, Cherry im so sorry! :hugsI wish there was something i could do..
There’s nothing I could do either. You know what they say, the hardest people to hurt are those who have already been hurt. Honestly, the chickens are the least of my worries right now. Don’t get me wrong, I love them and all, but I don’t have the time to let it get to me.

Sounds like the heart. :hugs :(
Taken just a few days prior. I will miss my little watermelon monster.

Interesting thing happened today. Was sick, and I was bored, so j decided to go out and play basketball. I thought to myself that a silly disease isn't gonna keep me from achieving my goal/dream. So anyways, I played for a few minutes, and I somehow felt perfectly fine, as if I Wasn't sick. Guess basketball temporarily healed me :idunno
I had a friend in school who played football and worked in addition to sports and school. Any time he got a fever or felt sick he would bundle up in layers... sweat pants, sweat shirts, hat, scarf... and he would RUN for 5 miles. Said it always cured him and he never got sick.
Getting up and moving is a good thing if you can... raises your metabolism to fight the germs.

Ended up getting two more does. Have a lot planned for them. They are both likely pg with a mid-July due date (aka Hammie’s death day :()

What a cutie. Do you know how old she was?
Heard a UC vet lecture... she said fatty liver disease is very common in the necropsies they do. Apparently symptoms are few and death is similar to your girl.
Comforting that she didn't suffer.
I refuse to have favorites any more. Always the kiss of death.

Man, you guys have some veggies growing? We wait until May to do most of our planting. Thinking if what I want to plant. Yellow squash for sure. .. Well, I did a not so smart thing yesterday. I mowed the back lawn. 😵‍💫 🙄 😦 Paid for it later big time. And some today. Not as bad as I thought I would. Got my dogs groomed yesterday. My Bella looks like a different dog..well..more like a Schnauzer now. She was getting shaggy. I'll post photos.

Yes, if she was still alive, she would’ve celebrated her first birthday in June. Now, obviously, that wouldn’t be happening. Doubt it was a liver issue given the absence of any symptoms/lethargy. I am glad she didn’t suffer either. I tell myself not to pick favorites, but that’s like telling me to not pet my dog!! Some chickens are just better, what in the world am I supposed to do?! The universe can’t expect me to love 5 Welsummers that look IDENTICAL as much as I love a watermelon monster that, mind you, lays beautiful olive eggs. It won’t and can’t happen!
