He's good . Starting to fly. Saw a young Cardinal today. Might be his brother/sister. As soon as he can fly, we'll let him go.

Evening, all. I have a young EE hen, barely a year old, trying to go broody. I took her out of the nest and put her in the grow-out pen with the 2-week olds. I don't expect her to adopt them of course. It's just that I'd rather put her there in this heat than confine her to a dog crate. She spent the day walking around clucking to herself. Tomorrow she's going to get at least one cooling belly bath.
