What is that beautiful critter?

Who is/was this guy? I never heard of him?

He's a member who frequented this thread quite a few years back. I remember he was raising a young child he spoke of a lot.

We have box turtles here. The three-toed one is our state reptile, and they're quite pretty, but we don't have anything with those bright red colors! I'm jealous!

The only thing I've seen in our area are western pond turtles. Dull as dishwater.

I lived on the east coast until I was 6. Remember finding box turtles (not that colorful, though) in the woods and was warned off of snappers as being dangerous. They are scary looking.

Now this hyeah is yo' snappin' turtle. If you see one of these in the middle of the road, don't stop and try to help it across if you like counting on your fingers. Just go on around and let him enjoy his sunbath.

Tons of turtles here. Kevin went fishing and said he caught one about 3 ft wide. Said it cut the line with its paw which he said was as big as his hand.
