Granny's gone and done it again

Anybody? So I'd been treating a hen with bumblefoot and tonight the black scab was peeling a bit. Wearing gloves, I picked at it and it seemed to want to come loose. So I got hold of it and peeled it, and it did come off, but then it bled pretty copiously. My DH was holding the hen and couldn't do anything to help, and all I could really do was hold a gauze pad against it to try to staunch to flow. Eventually he was able to hold the pad with his thumb while I medicated and bandaged the foot. I just wasn't expecting it to bleed like that. The other foot didn't have a scab, just a pus plug, which I tried to squeeze out without much success. When it started to bleed I stopped and medicated and bandaged it as well.
They bleed like crazy. I've got photos of how I've taken care of it. I e posted it somewhere on here..not sure I can find it. Takes a while to post all of how. I'll look and see if I can find that post.

I’ll have to take a pic of it for you. It’s actually a big water tank that hubs has routed our well to auto refill when we run the irrigation. As long as she shows up once during the two weeks we’re gone I’m not worried about the water running out.

I’m just worried about 17 hens and three nesting boxes and All The Freaking Eggs combined with squirrels are jerks and will steal food.
I had to deal with..sparrows!!

ugg... what else? Fish filter in the bathroom had a bad leak. I planned on keeping that tank. Guess not now. I dont have another filter to replace that one with. Its a small 5 gallon. It will be hard to catch all the baby guppies out of there too.

I have guppies too. They are a mish mash of genetics by this time though as I put 4 varieties together and just let them breed willy nilly! I have a twenty gallon fish tank and during the summer I put several females in the stock tank. The ones in the stock tank breed like crazy, it seems they like it there. I also put some in our downspout 55 gallon barrel. At the end of warm season I gather them up and pick out the ones I want to over winter. The rest become chicken or cat food.

My pickins for today. I've given some away already to a daughter. Crook neck and yellow squash. Think I'll have some tommorow. Today was a pretty good day. Took Bella to vet, went with Austin to have a lipoma tumor removed, then to the store/bank. Yep, wasn't feeling too good by then. Stopped at Taco Bell..ate at home, layed down after, slept for three hours!! Doing ok tonight. :)
