The problem with a lot of money would be everyone asking you for it all of the time. Once wouldn't be enough, they would figure any time they need something you should give it to them. Charities wanting their share, etc.
Giving some away when you want to is one thing. Getting called regularly for any bill or problem would be wearisome.
