No, not an illusion. The front wheel is larger to enable the rider to bunny hop over an obstacle like a log that might be across a trail. Have to admit that we don't shoot for jumping logs at our age and try to keep our trails clear.Is the front wheel bigger than the back wheel or is that optical illusion? If so, what is the purpose?
My DH spent a lot of time working on the suspension of my bike so it fits my barely 5'2" height and I can touch the ground with both feet for added security and safety. He rides either a Honda 150 or a Honda 400 and when 'Blue Baby' as I call her, is sitting beside his bikes it looks like they had a baby. Except it is the wrong color.
