Granny's gone and done it again

Art studio looking better!View attachment 3343520
Looking amazing!!!! Wow, I wish I had that kind of space for a sanctum. (Well, at least I have spare oom at least)
Oh, i forgot to tell you guys about the quote from the electrician. $2,700! To run power from the house to the studio and hook up the kiln. That's insane!
Probably needs a few more breakers, the cable/tubing to bury the cable in is money too, and another fuse box probably for the studio itself (not sure what the kiln requires). I remember from when we ran power to the shop. The electrician was known to us, so we ended up getting all the supplies, trenching/burying again after the fact - the electrician just did what black magic he did with the electricity - and that was before covid busted up the cost of freaking everything.
my dr. called. She caught the 2 CT scans and is trying to roll them into one. The one I do have coming up says w/o contrast then goes on to say arrive 1 1/2 hr early to drink contrast. Sezs no eating but doesnt say anything about coffee..
Double check on that. May be black coffee may be ok but no creamer etc.
You'd think our Congressmen would realize married women need Medicare too. And maybe a decent income because a husband's SS is not enough for a household of two. The Man is still working because we still have two dependants and there is no way we could make ends meet on his SS. I get less than $400 SS myself because like many another woman of my generation, I chose to mostly stay home and raise my kids instead of getting a job to earn money to pay some stranger to raise them for me.
Ohhh this is a rant that…ohhh I must bite my tongue on cause…oh heck. Soap box.
I wish we had it where we COULD afford to make it on a single income and families should not be penalized in the retirement years for choosing to do so.
2 pipes froze and burst. Water was coming out the door and into the parking lot.

BUT mu deductible is ONLY $2500. not the $5000.oo I thought. Plumber cost me $530.00 to fix just the pipes.

Ended up getting some one from Bismarck to suck all/most of the water up on Monday. So there will be mileage involved.
Oh dang twist :( I am so sorry.
We had loads of rain overnight until about 1pm today. Hubs and I (and about half the county!) took advantage of the break in the rain to look around the shops... got a couple things for the kitchen. We were surprised to see a lot of empty shelves. Guess the supply chain still has a hitch in its gitalong.

Leaving soon to take Pi to get his rabies shot. Hope he behaves. Getting cabin fever with all this rain. WONDERFUL RAIN!
Oof. Rain just started here but…we’ve been plagued so Goose has also gotten the cabin fever. Not good.
We are having major storms here also. No break until tonight. Flooding, winds, pouring rain, power outages.
Wind advisories here and rain. Whee. My car is all safely tucked in the shop though, much to husband’s dismay. (Not sure if the sunroof is fixed or not but am I wrong for not wanting a soggy vehicle in case it isn’t?!)

Anyway. 90% sure the plague has hit our household. Hubs and I are going to have to test today - started off for me Thursday with a mild cough and then freaking chills of doom later that night, body aches, friday saw me passed out all day and a low grade fever. Lung butter coughing is still a thing, no energy still but somewhat functional (though even just mucking out the chicken coop to put the stall pellets down was exhausting) and today giving goose the dry off with the towel was enough to make me woozy feeling.

Hubs had the chills kick in last night. He’s still in bed. His fever’s a bit higher than mine was so I’ll be keeping an eye on him but sleep is what he needs too.

Man, you guys go to bed early. I had a nap because hubby was watching a boring movie.
I put up a piece of fencing in the barn between the stalls because the young goats were jumping off the feed bin i put in for them and into the next stall over with Peanut. She was not impressed. She kept butting the ones that were not hers.
I have decided to name the girls i am keeping Bea and Bo , so i remember they are the same age. Different mothers.

And then I remember you live on Planet CA and there is at least a two-hour time difference. I am rwo hours in the future from you, lol.

Is there such a thing as 'enough sleep' Granny?

Our dogs had me awake at 3 AM having a howl fest. Lord thought they would never quit. DH slept through the serenade. Caught a Fox, a Coyote and the neighborhood Bobby on our game cameral a few nights back so they may have reasons to be a howlin. Just wish they wouldn't do it in the middle of the night.

Thanks, Pro, I'll take the support/ compassion! We've been raising these two grandkids for about ten years now and frankly, are now living pretty much paycheck to paycheck. TheMan hit retirement age this past year and is getting SS while still working full time, for which we thank God he's still able to do. TheKid is a sophomore in HS so we still have a way to go. We'll just have to trust the Lord to continue to provide ... I know there are probably millions in our position, more and more grandparents are raising g-kids. I don't know the answer.

Lol, it's their JOB, MC! Intruder Alert! Call 911! Rouse the household! It's what you pay them to do! :lau

Good grief, girl. I'm sorry to hear that. Feel better. If you test positive lots of people are having luck with the Paxlovid if you can tolerate it.

I'll be keeping you both in my prayers. :hugs
