Sad for you, but happy for myself. Next weeks' most "extreme" weather for us is single digits for lows and teens for highs. I don't ever remember having a -40 windchill even. It'll usually go down to -20, 2-3 days out of the year, but there's usually no wind at the time. Typically completely windstill when it's -20 degrees.

well I am back.

Got some of my Christmas cards done and ready for the postal person to grab in the am.

We actually got mail delivery today on a Sunday even.

I got my utility bill for the motel for the past month. almost $2900.00 I dread to think of next month's bill with this cold snap.

Oh and the guy from Bismarck who sucked the water of Rm 25, their bill showed up over $650. NOT amused and will certainly let my Agent hear about it.

yes it is. We did have a -50 with wind chill here once years ago. I was out tending chickens in it.
