We have had a lot of rain. Never seen the little floating pier under water! There are small boat ramps on either side.

Granny, about the brown cattails... if you look at the other side of the lake on the left, there are brown reeds, but right next to them, the reeds are green. Maybe they had more shelter. I think you were right about them dying back in the cold snap.


In this pic, there are lots of green reeds under the trees, but look past them to the other side and they are dead brown. Must be different exposure.

I always like a good mystery.

I was shocked by my electric bill this month. Almost $340.00 It was $170. last month. We had one week of freezing temps.

Ours was more than that!

Well i was so tired today , this afternoon that i fell asleep on the sofa. Woke up half an hour before supper.
Cool outside. One of the two bantam hens in the barn laid an egg today! Only other one laying is the pullet that has been laying 4 days. I have only 10 female chickens now.

That happened to me a week ago after church. Came home, ate lunch, turned on a sermon on tv and crashed until 6 pm. It felt so good, though! Went to bed early and slept some more!
