oh, BTW did some looking on the cat tails. Its the root that you can eat whenever. Its a tuber and mimics a potato.

Wouldn't eat them in late fall. They turn very bitter. Made Survivorman barf.

If you hose frost off plants before the sun shines on them it will save them. Ive seen my GM do that to her fruit trees.

I don't think it was that cold for very long. Not long enough to do any damage.

Yes, prolific weeds are plantains. Hard to get rid of.
Anything with a taproot does good here.
