Granny's gone and done it again

Is it because the soil is over saturated?
Partly, but it's also from lack of rain over the past 7+ yrs. The roots become weakened and can't support the water weight that the thirsty tree has greedily sucked up. The way we've pruned it, keeping limbs from growing over the house is also to blame. Oaks grow roots out to the edge of their canopy and since we removed part of the canopy on one side, there are fewer roots and it put the entire tree out of balance. That's why we weren't entirely surprised it happened, but very grateful it missed the cars!

Feed it to the doggies!
I thought it was too tough for you.
it is too tough but not if I cook it a long time in some broth. Bandit got the bone. First one he has had since he was in the hospital. I put him in my room so he didnt have to hurry to eat it and let him gnaw for a while then took it away and tossed it. He hasnt stopped staring at me since.
