I had one hen that went blind with cataracts in both eyes. She managed for about a year but last autumn the others started attacking her. Think they knew she was weak so wanted her out of the flock. She went down hill after that so Charlie euthanised her for me.

I’m a right whimpy fanny Annie when it comes to things like unless an emergency. Charlie is extremely black & white when it comes to the death of an animal.

I had to cull a bunch of roos one time just because there were so many. I wont ever forget it. Hurts me today. Wishing was here visiting me at the time.

It is bad when it has to done. We did a load of polish then put them out as fox bait so they served a purpose in a sense but it was difficult to decide “right today is the day”

Horse are hard too when it’s their time. Harry‘s field companion Bran had to be put to sleep at xmas and it was just horrific. I thought my heart was going physically break cos it was real pain in my chest. Lord knows what I will be like when Harry goes.

Its scary to have chest pains. I have had quite a few heart attacks. Its alway wise to get checked by the drs. I hope you did?

He’s 28 now granny. No he’s not ridden anymore I retired him in March 2022. He now lives with 3 sheep!

I have a little pony on loan to ride at the minute called a China. She’s very steady but only has one eye!

Yeah my ticker is ok. It was just the pain of losing him, crying not getting breath due to tears and snot I think! Was actually at the quacks yesterday for a review, all was good but low blood pressure which can be a pain.
