Granny's gone and done it again

I got my underground electric fence today and I am SOO happy with it! :wee Sammy learned very quickly not to challenge it, I think his car chasing days are over. :celebrate I have to do some follow-up training over the next few days, but I really think he's got it. The installer was very impressed with how quickly Sammy responded. We had acouple of opportunities to see if he would go "through" it later in the day, and he was like, Nope, don't think so! :yesss:

This is a 2nd generation system. It's a one-way correction. In other words, it only corrects the dog for crossing the boundary going OUT, not for coming back in. If he were to get real excited and run through the boundary, it would not correct him for crossing back in. Also, if he does cross the boundary to leave the property, he doesn't just get a single shock and that's it. No, he gets corrected for up to 12 seconds until he gets back in the yard. I don't mean it's a non-stop shock, I believe it's a series of pulses, but what I mean is it keeps on until he goes back home, for up to 12 seconds. But when he crossed it in training, he got back on the safe side in about one-twelfth of a second!

The installer says he had a 200+ Italian mastiff that used to run through the original system to kill deer, and then he got this system. The dog ran through it once, turned right around and came back, and never challenged the boundary again. So he bought the franchise! I think I'm going to be very happy with it.

Worth it if it keeps your dog safe.
