Well I found Maiah today. Evidently she passed either Monday night or early Tuesday morning

She would have been 10 in about a week. And of course I don't have any of her daughters SOOO unless Jefree Star is willing to part with one of Equinox/solaris's heifers that bloodline for me is lost.

Is 10 old?

NOPE sort of the late middle of Prime age. I have friends who's 25 year old cows are still having calves.

I got to be at the Co-Op first thing in them morning or I'm in trouble with a lot of chickens. They will run out of feed by then and I didn't go in today when we got home for any. I took a nap after the hard trip. But at least I will be able to hear them grumble in the morning when I fill the feeders.

honestly I suspect calving issues OR she ate some Hensbane. She had a breech calf last year that didn't make it. The vet said everything looked good inside for her to have more babies.

I went to Running's monday for chick starter they had 2 bags left. No idea when more would come in. The checker suggested trying TSC so I looked on line . Exact same brand and food only $27.50 a bag. Runnings was 18 something
