I put in a tough morning but if feels so good to know a vital project got done. More on the second phase is scheduled once the sun lowers some more and hopefully the temp will drop a few more degrees. No rain before 6pm and then it might hold off to 7ish right when the chickens need to be in their coops from a day of goofing off outside their coops.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it helped. I get plantar fascitis sometimes. I think i spelled that wrong, but too tired to figure it out.
It is 69° outside now. But humid since it sprinkled outside.

We jinxed me! Went bed last night and wondered why my heel was hurting. Nooo!

Pullets go to roost well before dusk. Cockerels wait until almost dark to hit the roosting bars.

At least tonight I won't be chasing Cornish pullets out of a log pile with a water hose. I might have to get some of the White Giants out of it though. As soon as I can get a big back hoe in the log pile will be moved down hill into a ditch where it can decompose. The temp is not going down very fast. Not sure how much more I will get down but at least they all will be fed again and watered. They don't get much at night as their crops are full of greenery from free ranging all day.

I know that people shouldn't feed dogs from their plates at the table. What happens if you feed a pet chicken? I may be in trouble.

What was to be a slight cooling turned into a slight heating day here. It is way to dangerous for and oldie like me to be out in the heat stroke range doing hard manual labor. I'm going to be doing good to feed and water at closing time.

I am. Me wife is with me watching me and helping some so it is not taking near as long getting feed and water and the eggs collected. Big project is inside tonight. Out fitting a pet hen with a diaper that is home made.
