Granny's gone and done it again

I always thought if I were rich enough to have a cook I could lose a ton of weight because I like the healthy good for you dishes. I bet if someone opened a drive thru with salads and such only healthy stuff it would do better then mcdonalds
Probably will cost much more than mcdonalds tho😕 Sad how cheap they make fastfood these days…pretty much an incentive on its own

That’s partly why I love eating in foreign countries. Depends where but in Asia food is usually cheaper and fresher…not to mention tastier. I’ve been to several Asian countries over the years and the food there is just soooo good. I’ve heard Greek food is pretty good too…can’t wait to try. My mom and I went to a hotpot place yesterday and everything came down to $20. Drinks and dessert were included/free. One thing I love about Taiwan is that there’s no use tax. So whenever you buy something the tax is already included. I like knowing exactly what I’m paying for right away.

Hi Cherry! Are you still on vacation? Did you get your flights squared away?
Still in Taiwan lol. Leaving for Japan on the 9th so in 3 days. We’re going to the Kyoto/Osaka region. I wanted to go to Tokyo but everyone goes there this time of year so tickets were hard to get…not to mention very expensive. Maybe next time. I think that’s about it. We only have 2 weeks left until school rolls back into season…sadly

Yesterday my ManChild and I made what turned out to be a scrumptious veggie soup. He brought up from the basement a bunch of cans of veggies that he thought would go good together in a soup, and I put them together. Started with the "trinity" of chopped carrots, onions, celery, tenderizing in a little olive oil in the bottom of the big soup pan. Then added drained green beans, black beans, Great Northern beans, shoepeg corn and vegetable stock. Brought to a boil, added tiny macaroni shells and cooked till tender, about 8 minutes. Finally stirred in a can of Cream of Chicken soup and heated through. Delicious yesterday; was even better today, but we did have to add a little more veggie stock today.

This has been quite an experience for you and your family! Certainly one you will never forget. It's been said that no traveler ever returns and it's true. You've been changed, enriched, expanded, by your travels. I envy you! :hugs

I believe it’s true too. So many people never get to see the world. I’m super lucky and grateful that my mom changed that for me
