Granny's gone and done it again

Ugh. We got home from the spay and hubs felt the need to be “productive” and work on a truck. Ok, fine, pet store closes at 6:30 if we need to get a cone of shame.

Poor Kira. She’s whining a bunch more than peach did post spay - but she also had her spay done IN FULL HEAT so I’m sure she’s got a lot of things going on right now. She’s restless and I’m trying to keep a close eye on her. Though I turn my back for a second and she’s up on the couch. Ugh! (At least she’s peed and pooped so there’s that at least)

She fussed once or twice so I texted hubs that we’d need either him to watch her so I could go or he would need to go get the cone of shame.

“Oh well someone is coming over to get mirrors so…”

Someone comes over and he’s giving them the grand tour telling the tale of the accident and who knows probably our life story too. I get that he knows this guy but when I do not want to leave her unattended…get on with it.

Luckily daisy’s mom still has the cone of shame from her spay so he’s headed over there to get it. I think he got mad when I said she’s restless she’s whiny and you need to have eyes in the back of your head so no YouTube.

That's bad, I'm sorry Wishing. The winds are from a hurricane off shore, I understand?
Yes, terrible wind that knocked out power and phones. Most people had no warning.

Im sorry to hear this. Was anyone hurt? Was this the place you stayed when you went there?
As far as we know, SIL's family all made it out okay. House is ash and her brother most likely lost his boat in the harbor.
It's where we stayed the first time hubs took me to Hawaii (before he was hubs... I was 20ish).

Just a block away houses are still standing. At least they had a relatively easy escape.

I have a granddaughter in Hawaii where the fires are and I've heard nothing from my son about her. Cause for worry.
I'm still catching up so haven't seen any updates... praying your family is alright.

Well the motel will be insured for another year. Of course rates went up by almost 2 grand.

1800 down and 800 a month for 10 months
Many insurance companies are dropping fire coverage in CA. Home insurance is pretty useless if it doesn't cover fires. I think they are playing chicken with the CA Insurance Commission which severely limits how much they can charge. Got to find the balance point. If they can't charge enough to stay in business when wildfires destroy so much... makes the whole endeavor pointless.

I heard on the Radio earlier this week that ND is so short of teachers that they are going to allow student teachers to actually run classes with out a teacher supervisor in the room with them.
They should ask for parent volunteers to sit in every class.
