Granny's gone and done it again

I really understand your pain Granny. I'm just now getting my morning meds together. Supposed to be 3 times a day but yesterday and again today only twice for me. Spent longer than usual with the chickens and their needs this morning.
I know you do. Its rough every single day without fail but some days are just worse than others.

It may be a holiday weekend but getting feed and water to my girls and boys comes first. I may drag the kettle grill out and do some burgers for a treat. I'm really upset with my self for not getting some more feed yesterday instead of waiting to go into town Monday. Not the slightest thought about it being a holiday and the feed store being closed. Some of the kids my have to eat scrambled eggs. The layers can get by on scrambled eggs and grass but the little ones need a little feed and I think I will get by until Tuesday if I carefully divide what feed I have up where no one gets extra.
when I was low on feed I would cook them some oatmeal and add whatever I had to add like eggs and such.

I buy feed by the half ton. That way I don't have to be remembering to buy some on a regular basis.

I usually buy a quarter ton as that I can store. Once I get a new feed room built I'll get a half ton especially if I can get a better price. At least I would have the piece of mind from always having feed when I could buy a half ton more when I'm down to a quarter ton. That way if there is a problem in the supply system I stand a better chance of getting feed somewhere to last until there is more. I tried to grow some proso millet but that was a crop failure. As soon as it cools off some I'm going to till up a plot and plant mustard and turnips for greens for the chickens.

LIFE LESSON

1. Don’t lend money to your family. Give it.

2. Never shake a hand while sitting down.

3. Stop telling people more than they need to know.

4. Never eat the last piece of something you didn't buy.

5. Don't throw your friend under the bus to impress someone.

6. Never insult the cooking when you are the guest.

7. Don't use the urinal next to an occupied one.

8. Don't take out your phone during a conversation.

9. Never take credit for work you didn't do.

10. Listen, nod, and most of all make eye contact.

11. Don't make fun of your friend in front of his kids.

12. Never let emotions overpower you.

13. Never beg for a relationship.

14. Dress well no matter what the occasion.

15. Never kick a man when he is already down.

Being tomorrow is labor day I'm going to labor building a new roost set up for my Dark Cornish pen. There are only 10 of them and I will be building a new 8x12 hoop coop for them. There are 2 roos that have been raised together and seem to get along really good. As long as they do I keep both with the 8 pullets. If they start fighting I'll divide the girls and then build another 8x12 hoop coop putting a roo and 4 hens to the coop. Problem solved. The down side it is one more feed and water stop morning and evening.

I personally think number 8 should be number 1.
Here is the one I like.
