Granny's gone and done it again

Granny people that don't want to do well in math are often cheated while buying groceries. When I worked in an A&P food store at the age of 16 I was smart enough to see the store ripping off people buying sugar. A 10lb bag sold for more than 2 5lb bags. 10lbs either way. I ask why that was and was told it was more for the 10lb bag for the convenience it offered. I saw a lot of poor people coming in and buying 10lb bags thinking they were saving money over buying 2 5's. I still see this happening today in a lot of places. I'm thankful for having math skills over the social science skills.
I see that too. Money is so tight here we keep our eye out.

Me..math..? Nope. My husband sure was good at it. Worked in Quality Control at a big Valve Co. He had to measure cracks in a valve that you couldn't see with the naked eye. Used a special machine to pick them up. They had to pass a certain teeny tiny measurement. I saw a lot of his math when I cleaned some of his note books out when he passed. Looked Greek to me! He was a smart man. It was so sad when he started losing his memory.
Same thing with my only and younger brother. He wrote computer code for the little machines that use your debit or credit cards in the checkouts of many major businesses. He held a degree in physics and had a masters degree in computer science. He got to the point in his last days he would try to flush a toilet with the light switch outside the bathroom.
