Maybe you need to make a chicken. I brined one and the put it the oven. Ate on it for a couple days then made bone broth with carcass. It was good.

Come spring can Robert plant a small garden to supplement the grocery store needs. We are. Couldn't this year but I am expecting higher prices at the stores already. We must find a way to grow some staples. Potatoes and tomatoes at least.
