We have a 6 months + supply of canned goods, dried beans, rice, flour, sugar, and more. Things that bugs would like are vacuumed sealed in half gallon jars. Some flour is in the deep freeze. We rotate stock so not to have to throw away anything. We've been using out of the deep freeze without buying frozen food now to make rood for vacuum sealed chicken. With all of our chickens we don't need to try and keep eggs ahead. We are hatching new pullets about every 3 months now. Multiple coops to prevent a predator disaster in one night. Hatch eggs always in stock ready to hatch on a moments notice. Weak link is feed... Need to grow some as soon as we can get ground prepared. This is why we have a 2 year supply of food. Some is getting old from not using it. I've been going through things. Who knew salt doesn't have a forever shelf life. My lima beans..too old. I know there's a box of tuna that needs to go. So, I'm having the kids here buy one something that has an at least 2 year shelf life when they go shopping. Something we use. I just bought a huge bag of rice and flour. I also just bought a bread maker. I used to make it by hand, but my wrists and shoulders don't work like they used to. Now I need to go through my 72 hr kit. It's been a while! Need to make sure clothing fits.Plus I know my meds need to be updated.
