Hens loved to throw them out. I haven't tried pine bark or other types of mulch because it's all colored here now. I use two Best Rollout Nest boxes for clean eggs.
tried the roll out one and the hens refused to use them. Fussy witches.

You have broody hens? I thought you just bought layers.the broodies are. Not sure about any others.
Im sorry Blue, please keep us updated. Prayers..
We have two male barn cats, both neutered. They are almost care free except for the bit of catfood we give them.I think some times I need a big barn cat and then I just don't know. The last time we had cats they cost a small fortune. I don't hate cats at all. I don't like the cost of keeping them.
I put some velco on plastic eggs and they went in an out exploring my boxes. Now they had access to them before they started laying too. Delaware and RIR girls. Started with 44 hens in each coop.tried the roll out one and the hens refused to use them. Fussy witches.
Before I get a barn cat I'd better get a real barn. What would you call a cat that just had a hoop coop?

Twist I put one of these in a pair of 14x16 coops that the hens free ranges from and most eggs are spotless. Little breakage too. You might can just use the deep type astro turf in your boxes and wash as needed.
