Granny's gone and done it again

Granny ... usually there are directions on food packages.... you might consider reading them ... and maybe even following them.. . :lau

Sorry, could not help myself (I didn't try very hard!)
If all else fails read the directions. At least I know not it's not just men who don't read or ask for directions. :)

Of course. Deer and Pigs are of the same category of animals. The basis for pig is the type of feet. 2 sections of hoof. Deer are the same. Venison was taboo for the Hebrews too.
Sorry, Larry, you are mistaken. Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 state that of land animals, those may be eaten that have a split hoof and chew the cud. In other words, ungulates. Deer fall into that category, as do moose, sheep, goats, wildebeest, yak, buffalo and a vast assortment of the deer family. Pigs do not because, although they have a split foot, they don't chew the cud. Camels and llamas don't, because they chew cud but don't have split hooves, they have feet with toes. Elephants and rhinos and hippos don't, nor do rabbits, beavers, squirrels.
