Having to sleep on my left side with the bad ribs as triggered the pain in the left leg and most likely cause the nerve pain too. I got on my right side to day and now the ribs are complaining. Not as bad as the leg but I know I'm sleeping on my back tonight as the least of the evils. Not supposed to sleep on my back with my CPAP. No wins for a while now.
I find sleeping on back also helps with the sciatic nerve pain. Both hips hurt if I'm on one side or the other. You aren't supposed to sleep on your back with a CPAP?? I did. Well tried. I couldn't use that thing. I gave it a good try too. Months. Never got good sleep with it. So why use it? I have found that if my sciatic nerve is flaring that sleeping in an almost upright position helps. Recliner.

Can't sleep in a recliner for very long. I think it was the original sleep study doc that advised against sleeping on my back with the CPAP and the CPAP itself may not have been the reason. There was another respiratory problem in the mix. My CPAP makes a big difference for me like it is supposed to. I log on to see how many events per hour I have and some nights I've had as many as 13/15 that the machine has helped me through while asleep. Some nights one or two. I think most nights 3/5 events per hour. Some nights I sleep on my belly and that helps the most with the least pain when ribs are normal.
