75° and the rain has passed for the moment. Going out and throwing some scratch for the boys and girls as we have some more cold nights coming soon. Got to gather 3 days worth of eggs. It's been so cool they were better left in the rollout boxes than filling up the cooler.

We got mobbed to say the least. Heavy looking black clouds sent us back in the house. At least I'm back. I don't know what ma is still doing out there. Well look who just came back. I'm exhausted. Upwards of 50's lbs of scratch hit the ground and was gone in a flash. If it doesn't come a frog drowner before now and in the morning I'll refill the bins in the coops with crumbles in the morning. Next Saturday I'll start all over.

I think ma has a pot of navy beans and a ham bone simmering for our supper tonight. While getting milk for pudding this afternoon I picked up 2 good slicing tomatoes for BLT's tomorrow but didn't get the lettuce. Some days me and my mind are not communicating on the same frequency and today has been one of them.

I think ma has a pot of navy beans and a ham bone simmering for our supper tonight. While getting milk for pudding this afternoon I picked up 2 good slicing tomatoes for BLT's tomorrow but didn't get the lettuce. Some days me and my mind are not communicating on the same frequency and today has been one of them.

Oh well you don’t need lettuce unless you are using it for the bread.

Yeah, I'd just as soon have just the bacon and tomato by themselves.

Being ma fed me beanie weenies for lunch she decided to feed me a leftover
vegetable plate instead of more beans for her own good.

Corned beef and taters and cabbage is on. Yumm... The mouth is drooling for tomorrow. Its been so long since we had any real meat. No wonder my iron and such is low. Tom and myself will get one good meal then Robert will eat the rest of it. lol I dont mind.

It's been a couple of years since we have had the corned beef in the bags with seasonings. Lately just a can of it and a small head of cabbage and calling it good. Maybe this year cabbage want be a $ a pound and the corned beef $5.50 to $6 a pound. I could by it but then I would cut something else back that we like too.
