Granny's gone and done it again

It's time for me to go through the seed box and have a throwing out of stuff that is way to old to trust and order what I can't get at the farmer's coop in town. I printed up some new updated flyers for what we have in the way of adult birds for sale and put them up in a few places in town. 7 more hours before I turn the incubator on....

The man that stopped by my house last week said he heard I was running a dog rescue here. I figure by all of these dogs barking the neighbors probably told them that. LOL I Wish I was doing that. I would love it.It was in our plans when I first moved here but never came to anything.

I wish I could say 7 hrs and counting! I do love hatching.

I have 25 eggs that were shipped to me that are from silkies and 17 of my own in the incubator now that will get turned on around midnight tonight. If I turn it on before there is a danger of air bubbles messing a hatch rate up more. If I wait later I endanger the hatch rate. I think they call that being between a rock and a hard spot. Of the 17 that are from my girls some are larger than Jumbo. They are a cross between a White Jersey Giant Roo and a Jumbo Cornish Cross hen. I've been told it couldn't be done. I should have been told that it wouldn't be easy because I already have some coming out of the brooder on Sunday when the weather is nice again. They are huge babies. Legs the diameter of an adult white leghorn. I like to do stuff that I'm told I can't do.
A rock and a hard place not a good place for an egg to be.
