Somewhere we have a recipe for Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Rum is used in the recipe. Guess with all these young roosters underfoot I might should pickup a bottle.

Granny that cough syrup doesn't taste good so there is no danger getting hooked on it from what I think and believe. It's not like a good strawberry daiquiri or pina colada with light rum.

Im not sure Robert will drink whisky. It would mess with his crohns.

If he takes NyQuil he is getting alcohol. Lemon juice may bother him? NyQuil has so much other junk in it I can't handle it anymore. You only need a couple of tea spoons of it to burn the itch in your throat to help with the cough. It doesn't have the sleep additive in it that NyQuil has.

Alcohol for one thing and probably some Tylenol. So many over the counter meds have Tylenol in them you have to watch and not over dose on Tylenol and mess up your liver. I'll look on a bottle of DayQuil we have in the cabinet.

I was wrong about DayQuil containing alcohol. It is alcohol free. But it is loaded with other junk for me. The warning labels are quite plentiful on the bottle. You need to have a degree in pharmacy to understand them. If a dab of alcohol will bother his Crohns he better not take it. He could do maybe a teaspoon and it that doesn't hurt him then 2. If it bothers him you and Tom are all Set.

For the record Granny I don't drink whiskey either. Can't stand it. If we ever get another vacation on the beach where we are not driving we will have a 4 pack of wine coolers that are fruit flavored. It's been years since we've done that. They are very low alcohol and do help to relax. There was an old piece of advice given centuries ago about beer. It was not to be used by kings and rulers but to be reserved for old men in their days of pain. Ya know I understand being an old man in my days of pain. Still don't drink it. Bad enough using PP's with a mild amount of opioid in them. So far today only had 2 of the 4 prescribed. Will take one more at bedtime. Along with a couple of OTC things to help it work instead of more of it.

Maybe write down the instructions and tape it to the wall next to the thermostat. There's really no need to be embarrassed, everybody forgets stuff if it's new and you've never done it before.

2 teaspoons or a shot glass max. Depends on how bad the cough is. A tablespoon is a good starting point.
