Granny's gone and done it again

Anyone have an explanation as to why 80 to 120 hens are only producing about 11 dozen eggs a week?? 45 of which were hatched last May , And they are a hybrid supposed to be egg laying machines.

Maybe they don't get regular food and water?

evening all. The nightmare's must have been contagious last night. I kept dreaming about a repeat of the Sunny disaster only it was Lu instead. I called my yak vet this morning. He was willing to come out to the truck and "do the deed." Lu went to her heavenly reward at 3:37 pm. Even that vet said it was time for her to go. Would have been 15 on April 3. She was born on an Easter Sunday hense the name Alleluia.

Weather and time of year come in to play. Hours of daylight is controlled by the time of year. Some breeds do better in the winter than others. Wyandottes are said to do better in winter than a lot of other breeds. One other is are they by any chance wormy? Can you get your vet to do a fecal float test to check for density of worm eggs? I've never wormed any of mine but that is on the agenda. I couldn't find what I wanted to use to worm mine in town today so I guess it is time for another Amazon donation as bad as I detest it.
