Spring is here now. Tomorrow will be a summer temp of 84°. I've tilled a corn patch that was sod this morning. Worked an hour and a half for about 1/4 of an acre. Maybe a little more. Haven't measured it yet. It is big enough to make neighbors drool and keep us in corn for a year. I don't feel sorry for neighbors who have land and don't plant a garden. Most are younger and stronger physically than I am. One neighbor who helps me with house repairs will eat from my garden and I keep him supplied with eggs. He's a good man.

Its nice of you to share with him. I understand what you mean about the younger and more fit not getting any. You are very fit for doing all that. I am one of the younger ones that doesnt do a garden because Im not able. I see and use garden stands for tomatoes because they are about a dollar a lb and I couldnt buy the plants and take care of them for less. I have tried them in pots and they dont do well. Maybe 3 or 4 maters per plant.

I've quit trying to grow them in 5 gallon buckets because they didn't do well for me. I think the dirt in the buckets gets to hot. I eat at least 1 tomato a day and sometimes 3 when we have them.

Granny is it possible to sharecrop a place for a garden to someone who doesn't have one and split the produce with them for doing all the work. Just a thought. Well my break is over. Got to go and make some more noise. I don't think the chickens like the tiller the least little bit. They've been fussing all morning about it.
